How do you distinguish a mimosoid legume from other legumes?

A legume which is sterile could be difficult to distinguish from legumes from the other two subfamilies, especially the Caesalpinioid. First of all, the vast majority of the species (and all in Singapore) have bipinnate leaves. However, some Caesalpinopid legumes such as Caesalpinia and Peltophorum also have bippinate leaves. Mimosoid legumes often (but not always) have glands on the petiole, rachis and pinnae.
